375 years ago, today, Norway's first recognized female author,
Dorothe Engelbretsdotter, was born. Her first published efforts,
Själens aandelige Sangoffer ("The Souls Spiritual Offering of Song"), appeared in Copenhagen in 1678 when Engelbretsdotter was 44. Eight years later she would publish her second collection, called
Tåreoffer ("Sacrifice of Tears").
