Puss In Boots Double DVD Pack Review

My two boys love to watch the Shrek movies, however, their favorite character from the movies is Puss in Boots. So they were very excited when the movie Puss in Boots came out in theaters last year. We loved the movie so much that we knew when it came out on DVD we would add it to our collection. They were thrilled as well that we received a double DVD pack with an additional movie about Puss in Boots. Here is the synopsis of both movies:

DreamWorks Animation’s PUSS IN BOOTS Synopsis
You loved him in Shrek…now see where the one-and-only swashbuckling feline found his fame – and a very big pair of boots – in the “hilariously funny” (Associated Press) animated epic! Lover, fighter and outlaw Puss In Boots (Antonio Banderas) is off on the adventure of his nine lives as he teams up with Kitty Softpaws (Salma Hayek) and Humpty Dumpty (Zach Galifianakis) for the ultimate showdown with the notorious Jack and Jill (Billy Bob Thornton and Amy Sedaris). Here’s the true story of The Cat, The Myth, The Legend – Puss In Boots!

DreamWorks Animation’s PUSS IN BOOTS: THE THREE DIABLOS Synopsis
As the dust from his latest adventure begins to settle, Puss In Boots finds himself at a crossroads between two destinies – hero and outlaw. When a desperate princess hires Puss to recover her stolen ruby, he is reluctantly partnered with three little kittens. Adorable. Fuzzy. Deadly. The minute the mittens are off, The Three Diablos wreak havoc on Puss’ mission to recover the stolen ruby from the notorious French thief, “Le Chuchoteur The Whisperer.” Can Puss tame these three little devils in time?

Our thoughts: We loved Puss in Boots when we saw it in the theater, and it was great to watch it again. To add a little extra fun to watching the movie, we received a movie viewing kit that included masks of both Puss in Boots and Kitty Softpaws, popcorn, gold egg candy, magic bean candy, raisins,  and a milk bottle. My kids loved wearing their masks! One of our favorite parts of the movie is a dance fight between Puss in Boots and Kitty Softpaws. The music is catchy and it makes you want to tap your feet to the rhythm. Of course, my boys loved it any time there was a sword fight as well. The storyline is cute and includes the familiar childhood characters of Jack and Jill and Humpty Dumpty, as well as incorporating parts of the storyline of Jack and the Beanstalk. My kids not only liked the movie, but they enjoy watching the end credits and dancing to the music.

In the new short film, Puss in Boots: The Three Diablos, we are introduced to three adorable kittens who turn out to be full of mischief. This film is only 11 minutes long, but my kids loved it! They actually watched it 3 times in a row the first time we sat down to watch it.

Both these movies receive two paws up from us! They will definitely be family favorites!

Disclosure: I received the double DVD pack and party viewing kit to review. No other compensation was received. All opinions are my own and are my honest opinion of the products.
